The Wake AHEC Medical Librarian for Outreach and Preceptor Services represents WakeMed, Wake AHEC and Library Services in the 9-county Wake AHEC region. The outreach librarian: Provides consultation and reference services, including literature searches, to the library's customers -- including WakeMed and Wake AHEC affiliates, regional health professionals, agencies, health departments, mental health providers, and community hospitals in Durham, Franklin, Granville, Johnston, Lee, Person, Vance, Wake, and Warren counties; Promotes use of the AHEC Digital Library; Provides library resource education and support; Assists in the operations of Wake AHEC Library Services; and Contributes to the Library Services web site and electronic outreach.

Experience Requirements :
Two years of experience in a health sciences library preferred. Professional Skills: Two years of experience using health sciences information resources and systems (citation and full-text databases, raw data and knowledge-based databases). Demonstrated ability to use Internet search engines, resources, and applications to meet customer information needs.

Education Requirements :
Masters of Library Science (MLS) from an ALA accredited school, or Masters in Information Science (MIS) from an ALA accredited school.
